العلامة عبد الحميد بن باديسْ هو عبد الحميد بن محمد المصطفى بن المكي بن محمد كحّول بن الحاج علي النوري بن محمد بن محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن بركات بن عبد الرحمن بن باديس الصنهاجي. ولد بمدينة قسنطينة عاصمة الشرق الجزائري، يوم الجمعة الموافق لـ 4 ديسمبر 1889 م على الساعة الرابعة بعد الظهر ،(1307-1358هجرية) الموافقة لـ (1889-1940) من رجالات الإصلاح في الوطن العربي ورائد النهضة الإسلامية في الجزائر، ومؤسس جمعية العلماء المسلمين الجزائريين

Abdelhamid Ben Badis was born on December 4, 1889 at 16:00. His birth was recorded the following day, Thursday December 5, 1889, at the register of births, lived and died in Constantine, a city in the North-East of Algeria. Sheikh Ben Badis was an emblematic figure of the Islamic Reform movement in Algeria. Albelhamid Ben Badis was of an old town middle-class family which claimed descent from the Zirids a Muslim dynasty founded in the 10th century.
